Cooperation. initiated by the European Commission

European cooperation

The European Commission supports various activities to increase digitalization among member states. Within our focus area of electronic communication, there are opportunities to seek support for implementing e-Identification, communication (AS4), and message formats.

AS4EDI

Since January 1, 2019, Viaduct has been participating in a European collaboration regarding the AS4 communication protocol and the implementation of the Service Metadata Publisher (SMP) for addressing in the OpenPeppol network. This is being carried out in collaboration with five other access points under the leadership of the University of Valencia and the LMT group. The other access points come from Belgium, Finland, the Netherlands, France, and England.

POOL-TSP between July 1, 2018, and June 30, 2019

We at Viaduct are currently participating as one of 10 companies collaborating in an EU co-funded project, led by the Spanish LMT Group and in cooperation with the University of Valencia. These companies are from Norway, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Iceland, and Italy.

The project, called POOL-TSPs and referred to as the 2017 CEF Telecom Call – eInvoicing (CEF-TC-2017-3), aims to help the participating companies implement the European Standard (EN) in existing e-invoicing solutions.

This means that our solutions will be able to handle invoices in the Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 and Cross Industry Invoice formats and send them via the AS4 protocol.

In addition to the POOL-TSP project, we have begun work on implementing AS4 and setting up an SMP in a separate project, also led by the LMT Group / University of Valencia in collaboration with several European companies.

PEPPOL

For several years, Viaduct AB has been a member of Peppol, a non-profit organization working to simplify electronic communication between the public sector and businesses in different countries.

Peppol was originally a project initiated by the EU and today works on developing standards for message formats and communication, which can be used to get started more easily and quickly. Peppol collaborates with the European Commission and follows the Commission’s directives regarding electronic invoicing and AS4 communication.
