Sustainability

In 2015, the UN member states developed an agenda with 17 global goals. Broadly, it aims to achieve four major objectives by 2030: eradicating extreme poverty, reducing inequalities and injustices worldwide, promoting peace and justice, and addressing the climate crisis.

Viaduct’s Sustainability Policy.

Of the 17 goals set by the UN, we at Viaduct have selected a few where we can contribute to a better society and a more pleasant environment, both locally and globally.

Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being

We provide excellent healthcare for all employees at Viaduct through comprehensive health insurance. Over the years, we have also donated to cancer research and various organizations that strive for a healthier society. At Viaduct, we have an activity room with a ping pong table, wellness grants, and flexible working hours to make daily life easier for our employees. We also have a workplace environment manager who collects feedback on improvements during weekly meetings.

Goal 4 – Quality Education for All

All our employees are continuously given opportunities for professional development, either independently or in collaboration with, for example, the municipality and universities. Viaduct has also participated in projects where we have introduced programming to elementary school students. Over the years, we have had many projects and collaborations with universities and the Employment Service.

Goal 5 – Gender Equality

At Viaduct, gender equality is a given. It is also a prerequisite for sustainable and peaceful development in society. Gender equality involves a fair distribution of power, influence, and resources. Today, Viaduct’s board consists of 50% men and 50% women. The company is also led by a woman in an otherwise relatively male-dominated industry.

Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth

Over the years, Viaduct has actively worked towards sub-goal 8.6, promoting youth employment, education, and internships. We have hosted individuals for internships and thesis projects from colleges and universities. Many of these individuals have later been employed by the company.

Goal 9 – Sustainable Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

Over the years, Viaduct has worked to simplify technology that was previously only accessible to larger companies. Today, even small businesses can communicate with large companies on equal terms using just a regular computer and web browser. No advanced, costly systems are needed. This makes technology accessible to everyone.

Goal 10 – Reduced Inequality

For us, “respect” is a key word. Here, employees can be young or old, male or female, newly Swedish or native Swedish, parents or not. We respect each other regardless and want it to feel both familiar and personal. We want everyone to be seen and everyone’s efforts to count.

Goal 12 – Sustainable Consumption and Production

Since our business idea is to digitize business documents and streamline communication between customers and suppliers, both we and our customers work towards Goal 12 every day. Our solutions enable, for example, large amounts of paper invoices to be replaced with digital ones. This is good for the environment!

Goal 17 – Implementation and Global Partnership

In today’s society, we are more connected than ever with people around the world. The UN’s Goal 17 can only be realized through global cooperation and partnership. Viaduct’s solutions are used by organizations and companies worldwide. Every day, numerous transactions and communications occur between companies. Thanks to our digital solutions, a supplier can send an invoice to a customer on the other side of the world in a fraction of a second. The simplicity, security, and low environmental impact help build bridges instead of tearing them down. Viaduct is also actively involved in several EU projects where we achieve sub-goal 17.6 by collaborating and sharing knowledge in science, technology, and innovation.
