BIS, Sve2 och EFH

BIS, Sve2, and EFH/EHF are terms used for message formats within the Peppol concept.

Business Interoperability Specification, or BIS for short, is the term for the standard formats within the Peppol framework. Most member countries today use the term BIS, while Sweden has historically chosen to call the BIS format SVE2. The content/specifications are the same despite the different names.

As of April 1, 2019, SFTI in Sweden proposed that the Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 format should be used. The new format became mandatory in the public sector for new setups.

Since January 1, 2020, Peppol BIS Billing 3 has been mandatory in the Peppol network. This means that BIS 2.0, EHF 2.0, and SVE 2.0 are no longer valid, and it will not be possible to send such invoices.

Each member country can choose to make minor local adjustments to the BIS formats according to the country’s laws, regulations, and preferences. In cases where adjustments are made to BIS, these apply only within the respective country and not in cross-border trade. Unlike previous versions, BIS 3.0 handles country-specific adaptations within the format.
